Commands

Crafts

  • Fix: Fixes a weapon at a forge. GP cost: 35
  • Repair: Repairs wood products at a cartyard or the like. GP cost: 35
  • Leatherwork: Fixes leather clothing that can't be sewn or mended with a regular needle and thread. GP cost: 35?
  • Mend (not the ritual): While it's not actually a command, it uses crafts.materials.needlework to use successfully. GP cost:

Faith

  • Bestow: Bestows a ritual onto a rod, baton etc. See rod charging for more information. GP cost: 50 plus gp for ritual
  • Consecrate: Consecrates an item to you deity. GP cost: 50
  • Ritbury: This will have a different name for each deity (IE: Sek's is ensumpf). It effectively buries a corpse without affecting your align. GP cost: 50
  • Pray: Sacrifices your guildpoints to your deity for their greater glory. GP cost: All or a certain percentage
  • Scour: Removes rituals from a rod, baton etc. GP cost: 50

Fighting

  • Bash: Uses a blunt weapon to bash your opponents brains in.
  • Beat: Attempts to knock your opponents weapon aside and leave them at a disadvantage.
  • Behead: Attempts to slice the head off your opponent with a large, heavy, sharp weapon.
  • Berserk: Go mad and beat people up. You need at least 50 gp to berserk and it takes all of your fighting points. There is a temporary stat loss after berserking.
  • Chop: Allows you to use an axe or other suitable weapon to chop into your opponent.
  • Feint: Fakes your opponent out, leaving them wide open for attacks for a few seconds.
  • Guard: Guards an exit against a certain person (or everyone if you so choose) from going that way.
  • Hack: Uses an axe or heavy-sword type weapon to hack your opponent up.
  • Pierce: Prepares to pierce your enemy with a weapon capable of piercing.
  • Riposte: Turns a parry into a thrust.
  • Slash: Allows you to slash an opponent using a small sword or dagger weapon.
  • Stab: Prepares to stab an enemy with a piercing weapon.
  • Warcry: Shouts a phrase of your choice, potentially causing your opponent to lose courage and therefore stats.

Other

  • Judge: Judges how good a weapon is. You can compare weapons as well.
  • Value: Values an item. You can also use it to value an item in different currencies.
  • Vurdere: Same as judge, only it is for armour.

Covert

  • Abscond: Allows you to sneak out of combat by dodging around your opponent and hiding, ambushing, or sneaking after you are out of the room.
  • Ambush: Set an attack for someone. Once they walk into the room the attack is triggered.
  • Backstab: Allows you to stealthily attack someone, leaving them shocked and confused for a time (lowered stats). Should the recipient of this attack have a high other.perception bonus, the attack will most likely fail and they will attack you.
  • Case: Considers a person to see if it is possible to steal from them.
  • Conceal: Conceals an item on you so others will have a hard time seeing it.
  • Filch: Steals an item from someone.
  • Hide: Hides you from sight. If someone has a high enough other.perception bonus, then they will probably be able to see you.
  • Palm: Silently pick up an object off a corpse, the floor, or out of a scabbard or container.
  • Peek: Allows you to stealthily look at someone, possibly without them knowing.
  • Pick: Pick a lock on a door or container.
  • Plant: Plant on object covertly on someone without there being a message.
  • Probe: Gives you an idea of how difficult it will be to pick a lock and/or disable a trap.
  • Rifle: Attempt to get an inventory of a container within a container.
  • Scope: Scopes a shop out to see how easy it will be to shoplift from it.
  • Shoplift: Steal an item from a shop. GP cost: 45
  • Slip: Slip an object silently to a person or container.
  • Snatch: Snatch an item from someone then run away.
  • Sneak: Move along stealthily to avoid detection.
  • Unconceal: Unconceals a concealed object.
  • Unhide: Allows you to stealthily come out of hiding.

Magic

  • Contemplate: Allows you to concentrate on a spell.
  • Forget: Allows you to forget magic spells or squints.
  • Octograve: Creates an octogram on the floor to help you focus.
  • Recharge: Recharges a magical artifact. Some artifacts may explode so beware.
  • Remember: Remember a spell from a spell book.
  • Scribe: Place a spell onto paper. Try not to have too many scrolls together.
  • Spellcheck: Check a spell to see if you can cast it.

  • Accept - Accept a surrender from someone, or a sale from someone.
  • Access - Adds IP addresses that your character can log in from (You can still log in from anywhere, but it helps prevent unauthorized access).
  • Advance - Advance skills at a teacher for your guild.
  • Age - Shows you the age of any character that exists on Discworld.
  • Alias - Creates a short form for a command or set of commands.
  • Allocate - Only useful if you're coming from the old combat-tree to the new one.
  • Apply - Apply as a creator, liaison, playtester, or playerkiller.

B

  • Birthdays - Shows who has a birthday today
  • Brief - Controls what you see in brief or verbose mode
  • Bright - Shows how bright things or places are
  • Bug - Reports bugs to the creators.
  • Bug_Replies - The system for dealing with replies to bug/idea/typo reports
  • Bug_Reporting - Same thing as Bug_Replies
  • Bugcheck - Guide for bugreporting.

  • Bury - Buries objects of your choice.

C

  • Calendar - Shows the dates on Discworld and how they relate to Roundworld time.
  • Cap - Sets your capitalised name
  • Cast - Casts a spell
  • Chfn - Changes your finger information (Real Name, Birthday, Home Page, Email)
  • Collect - Collect things like herbs and vegetables. Can also use gather.
  • Colours - Set and review colours
  • Cols - Sets the number of columns that show on the screen (columns is another way to say characters or text)
  • Commands - Shows what skills/commands you know
  • Comment - Report a comment, this is a bug that only stays in the database for a maximum of one month, no matter what.
  • Components - Lists the components for a spell.
  • Concentrate - Concentrates on a person during combat.
  • Condition - Shows the condition of items
  • Consider - Judges how much tougher/weaker an enemy is
  • Converse - A multi-line say mode
  • Convert - Converts measurement units
  • Cost - Shows the cost to learn a skill at your guild teacher
  • Count - Counts how many objects are present
  • Countries - Shows the percentages of people logged in in different countries.
  • Coverage - Shows you what parts of your body are protected by clothing and armour.
  • Crawl - Get down on all fours and crawl around.
  • Crouch - Makes you crouch

D

  • Debate - Challenge or accept a challenge to debate someone.
  • Defend - Defend a person (only if you can parry the attack)
  • Delete - Deletes your character (after 10 days)
  • Deliver - Delivers a sermon (At a high altar)
  • Describe - Sets your description
  • Drag - Drags a corpse or item
  • Draw - Draws a weapon from a scabbard
  • Drink - Drink liquid from a container
  • Dry - Dries you with a towel

E

  • Ealias - Edit an alias with the line editor
  • Earmuffs - Blocks certain events
  • Eat - Eat some food
  • Email - Sets your email address
  • Emote - (You need to complete a quest to get this command) Sends some text to everyone in the same room.
  • Equip - Equips one or all items that can be equipped
  • Examine - Get an in depth look at an item

F

  • Facing - Shows what direction you are currently facing
  • Finger - Extra info on players
  • Flip - Flips a coin
  • Follow - Follows a person or NPC (if they let you)
  • Friends - Lists your friends
  • Frimble - Takes text and writes it back to you

G

  • Gather - Gathers herbs or vegetables
  • Get - Gets something from something, like the room you are in or a container
  • Give - Give something to someone
  • Glance - Returns a short description of someone or something
  • Godmother - Requests help from your fairy godmother to bring you to a safe place. (Just say yes when she says something and think safe!)
  • GP - Shows your Total guildpoints and how many can be used for commands in the various skill trees.

H

  • Haunt - When dead, you can oooOOOOOoOooOoooOOoo at people.
  • Health - Shows the health of things (As in: In good shape, not in good shape, in bad shape, in very bad shape)
  • Help - Brings up a help file for a room or concept
  • Helpers - Shows which players are newbiehelpers
  • History - Command history
  • Hnewbie - Prints the recent history of the newbie channel.
  • Hnewbiehelpers - Prints the recent history of the newbiehelpers channel.
  • Hold - Holds an item in your hand
  • Hskills - Shows what skills have increased since your logon
  • Hsoul - Shows your soul history
  • Htell - Shows your tell history

I

  • Idea - Idea a concept, item, etc. for the game
  • Identify - Give a name to an item that it can be referred to as (Only by you and it loses it's identify if it is dropped.)
  • Idle - Shows the idle time of a character who is logged on.
  • Ignore - Blocks all direct contact from a player
  • Import - Imports settings from a registered alt.
  • Inform - Allows you to set what events you are informed of.
  • Inventory - Shows your inventory

K

  • Keep - Designates an object that shouldn't be sold.
  • Kill - Start killing something.
  • Killers - Lists the playerkillers currently logged on.
  • Kneel - Change your positiong to kneeling.

  • Languages - Shows what languages you know.
  • Learn - Learns a skill from yourself or another player.
  • Liaisons - Shows what liaisons are currently logged on.
  • Lie - Change your position to lying down.
  • Locate - Locates an item by description or name.
  • Lockout - Lock your character out for a certain amount of time.
  • Look - Looks at the room you are in. Can be targetted.
  • Lose - Lose someone who is following you. NOTE: Doesn't work with pursue.
  • Lsay - Loudly say something.
  • Lsayto - Loudly say something to someone.

M

  • Mail - Check mail and mail players at a post office.
  • Mailer - Information on commands that can be used in the mailrooms.
  • Mailinfo - Shows a players mail number and if they can receive mail from you or not.
  • Make - Make things from snow.
  • Map - Shows a text map of your immediate surroundings.
  • Math - Do arithmetic.
  • MCCP - Shows whether you are connected to Discworld compressed or not (uncompressed players are a bigger strain on the MUD).
  • Meditate - Change your position to meditating. NOTE: Meditating at a high altar will cause loss of rituals.
  • Money - Shows the money you have on your person.
  • Monitor - Monitors your HP, GP, and XP during combat.
  • MXP - Changes the MXP settings.

N

  • News - Shows new announcements.
  • Nickname - Creates a short name for players, NPCs, etc.

O

  • Offer - Offers an object for sale to another player.
  • Options - Controls options for your character.

P

  • Palette - Display a palette of MXP colours.
  • Password - Change your password.
  • Perform - Performs a ritual from memory or from a rod.
  • Permit - Permit someone to take things from your corpse.
  • Play - Plays rock-paper-scissors with another player.
  • Position - Change or view your position.
  • Protect - Take a lot of damage for whoever you're protecting.
  • Pursue - Chases players or NPC's.
  • Put - Put an item in or on another item.

Q

  • Qalias - Quick summary of your aliases.
  • Queue - Shows commands that you have queued.
  • Quit - Leaves the game.
  • Quote - Random Terry Pratchett quote.
  • Qwho - Quick summary of who is online.

R

  • Rate - Converts money between currencies.
  • Read - Read something.
  • Rearrange - Rearranges your stats. You only get one rearrange, so think carefully.
  • Recover - Recover something that has been buried.
  • Refer - Background information about a player.
  • Refresh - Totally restarts your character.
  • Register - Registers an alt/alts.
  • Reject - Reject a surrender.
  • Relationship - Sets up a relationship with someone. One or both people need a surname, if only one has one then the other one takes on the surname as well.
  • Remote - Echoes text to a specific person without anyone else seeing. Unless you want them to.
  • Remove - Removes an item you are wearing.
  • Repeat - Repeats a command.
  • Resize - Sends your terminal's window size to Discworld
  • Restart - Restarts your heartbeat.
  • Review - Quick overview of setable options.
  • Rituals - Lists what rituals are in your memory.
  • Rot13 - Transforms text with the rot13 algorithm.
  • Rotx - Transform text in a rot13 manner, but by specifying your own number instead.
  • Rows - Sets the number of rows on your screen.

S

  • Save - Saves your current status to Disc.
  • Say - Say something to the people in the room.
  • Sayto - Say something to someone specific.
  • Score - Shows your current score.
  • Search - Searches the room in the hope of finding something valuable and/or interesting and/or useful.
  • Sermons - List of currently known sermons.
  • Sheathe - Sheathes a weapon in the appropriate scabbard.
  • Shields - Shows your arcane protection.
  • Shout - Shout a message to all players within a certain distance from you.
  • Show - Shows an item to another character.
  • Signature - A way of finishing off mail and board posts.
  • Sit - Change your position to sitting.
  • Speak - Change the language you are speaking/writing in.
  • Spells - Shows the spells currently in your memory.
  • Splash - Splash someone in the room with you (there has to be water of course).
  • Stand - Change your position to standing.
  • Start - Set your starting position.
  • Stop - Stops whatever commands, fights, rituals, spells are being performed.
  • Su - Switches to another character.
  • Surrender - Surrender to your opponent.
  • Syntax - Shows the patterns available for a certain command.

T

  • Tactics - Change your combat options.
  • Take - Get an item from the room, or a container, corpse, etc.
  • Talker - Control your talker options.
  • Taste - Allows you to taste food/drink.
  • Teach - Teach skills to yourself or another player. Can also teach yourself from another player if they have autoteaching on.
  • Tell - Send a private message to another player(s).
  • Temperature - Shows your current temperature and what affects it.
  • Term - Set your terminal type.
  • Throw - Throw something at someone.
  • Time - Shows your local time and the time of other places around the world.
  • Title - Sets your playertitle.
  • Turn - Turn a page of a book.
  • Typo - Report a typo in an object on the MUD.

U

  • Unfollow - Stop following a character.
  • Unhold - Stop holding an item.
  • Unidentify - Remove the identify from an item.
  • Unkeep - Stop keeping an item, so you can sell it or give it to someone.
  • Unprotect - Stop protecting whoever you're protecting.
  • Unquest - Unsets a quest done before Thu Apr 13 23:47:33 2006 (London).

V

  • Verbose - Verbose mode control (Verbose has longer descriptions).

W

  • Watch - Make an effort to become more alert to your surroundings.
  • Wear - Wear an item of clothing or armour.
  • Weigh - Weigh an item.
  • Wet - Show how wet things are.
  • When - Shows when a player last logged off or how long they've been online.
  • Whisper - Whisper something to someone.
  • Who - Shows a list of who is online (Minus creators)
  • Whoami - Shows you the full name and titles of who you are logged in as.
  • Whois - Shows the full name and title of another player.
  • Wimpy - Sets your wimpy (At what percentage of HP you will run away at).
  • Withdraw - Withdraw an offer of sale to someone.
